Mail AI insights
Use the AI sidebar when reading mail — summaries, risk hints, evidence, and cross-validation.
The AI tab in the mail reading pane analyzes the open message to help you decide faster.
How to use it
- Open any message in your inbox or another folder.
- Click AI in the right sidebar (or open Evidence from an insight card).
- Finmail generates a summary, highlights entities, and may surface risk or compliance hints.
- Change summary length (Brief / Detailed) in Settings → AI → AI preferences — longer summaries use more of your plan quota.
Analysis runs when you view the AI tab or open the Evidence dialog — Finmail does not analyze every message in the background. The AI tab and Evidence share the same analysis run.
From insights you can add detected tasks or deadlines to your Mail calendar.
Multi-model cross-check
On high-stakes mail — or when you enable Deep audit and choose Regenerate — Finmail may run a multi-model cross-check:

The panel shows each model's summary side by side, confidence, risks, and key tasks. On disagreement, an expert review lists points to verify carefully. Use this to double-check financial mail; it complements the main summary and View AI rationale evidence quotes.
Quotas and errors
Professional and Team plans include limits on AI usage. When you reach a limit:
- Finmail shows a dedicated message (for example quota exceeded).
- Core mail features (read, reply, search) keep working.
- Finmail does not show fake or demo analysis instead.
Team plans typically include higher pooled quotas shared across seats in your organization.
Privacy
- Finmail sends only the text needed for the current analysis request.
- Privacy Enhancement Gateway settings may redact sensitive patterns before content goes to external AI (Privacy gateway).
- Use Regenerate after you change selected text or summary length so results stay accurate.
