Pakistan – Tandoori Chicken

This is a famous Pakistani Punjabi dish. This is known as Tandoori chicken because the word tandoor is used for the clay oven. Tandoori chicken was invented by the two Indian Chefs, Kundan Laal Gujral and Kundan Laal Jaggi. This dish was originated in India in 1940.

Nihari is the most popular, traditional, and authentic dish of Punjabi cuisine, Pakistan. It is popular even in India and Bangladesh. There are some famous dishes for traditional events like Eid, Shabrat, Milad, etc. This is a very important dish for the day of Islamic and traditional events. The name of this dish comes from the word, NAHAR. Nahar means, Morning. The origin of this dish is from the time of the Mughal Empire.

In Pakistan, there are two famous rice dishes, one is BIRYANI and the other is PILAF. Many regions have a special version of Pilaf in their cuisine. Pakistan is also famous for its street food. The famous street food of Lahore is TAWA PULAO. Pilaf is considered to be originated from PERSIA. During the 10th century, Ibn Sīnā wrote many books on medical sciences. In one of his books, he explained the advantages and disadvantages of a few dishes and Pilaf was in one of the dishes. Persians called Ibn Sina, the "father" of modern pilaf.

Pakistan – Masar Chawal

In Urdu, this dish is also known as DAAL chawal. Daal is this legume soup and Chawal means rice. But when a specified pulse like this brown pulse is used, this is called MASAR. This dish is from the INDIAN SUBCONTINENT. This is the same procedure of cooking as Indian and Bengali cuisine.

Seekh kabab is the side dry dish like a meatball but when they are put into the gravy the special dish is formed known as seekh kabab masala. The name of the dish is formed by using the names of two dishes. The one dish is Seekh Kabab and the other is Masala that is gravy. This dish was originated from the Indian Subcontinent but it is said that the first Kabab was introduced by the Turkish Traders before the King as their delicacy.

Pakistan – Mutton Keema Karahi

This is a dish of simple Mince gravy cooked by adding different curry-making vegetables and spices. This dish is very popular for breakfast. Like in Punjab, Bhuna Keema is served with Pratha and lassi. This is assumed to be the best breakfast and served for the special guests. This dish is supposed to be originated from the Indian Subcontinent. Every dish was originally originated from the Indian Subcontinent. So they are just ancestors of Pakistani and Indian cuisine.

Pakistan – Brain Masala/Bheja Fry

This is a special dish cooked by adding a special ingredient that is not common. The name of this dish comes from its main ingredient, BRAIN. The brain of cow, lamb, the goat, camel is usually cooked here in Pakistan. All the traditional dishes are from the time of MUGHAL EMPIRE, Royal kitchen and Indian Subcontinent. It is the ritual even now when EID-UL-AZHA is celebrated, breakfast is the masala liver and lunch would be brain masala.

Pakistan – Mutton Dhabba Karahi

This dish is a very delicious meat dish that is cooked with any meat and even with vegetables. This is also special due to the technique: high flame and the cooking wok. Traditionally Karahi is a clay pot usually found in rural areas for regular cooking. In Punjabi cuisine, the use of fat in the form of butter, milk, ghee is very famous. This is very common to serve Chicken Karahi as the street food selling by hawkers. This dish is originated from the region of the Indian subcontinent at the time of the Mughals.

Pakistan, India – Kali Masoor Dal (Black Lentil Gram)

Lentil is a special type of dish and it is part of many cultural cuisines. Asian people called it "Daal". The lentil is known by its plant called lens culinaris. This dish is very common the people of Pakistan or India cooked it twice or triple in a week. In Pakistan people called this black lentil gram as "Masar ki Daal" or Kali Masoor ki Daal. Lentils production is the common method of the plantation.

Pakistan – Peshawari Tawa Fry Kaleji (Lamb or Mutton Liver)

Tawa kaleji is a rare type of Asian dish. There are many ways to make Kaleji, here the word Kaleji means liver of lamb or goat. The spicy dish Tawa Kaleji is very famous in northern parts of Pakistan like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Quetta, Peshawar, etc. This dish is originated in South Asian countries like Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, etc. In Pakistan, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, there is a dish made with Kaleji. Most probably that this dish is the first one made on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha. The popularity of Tawa Kaleji Masala increases over time.
