Bruschetta is basically a starter dish which in Italy is called antipasto. It consists of grilled bread on which tomatoes are added along with some basil. The researchers claim its origin is either from Lazio or Tuscany. These both are cities in Italy. This dish is also reported to have been made first during the Ancient Rome. There are some fun facts and variations to the dish.

Italy – Pizza
Each country has its own specialty for making pizza that is why it is so popular. There are more than 3000 variations throughout the whole world. The word Pizza came into light first in the 10th century and it was found in a Latin manuscript in the town Gaeta in Lazio Italy. However this version of Pizza was not the one which we are used to eating nowadays. The modern day pizza was created in Naples in the 18th century.

Italy – Panzanella (Bread and Tomato Salad)
Panzanella is considered to be a very important dish as it is about 500 years old. The original idea was to give people something they can easily afford for the whole week with minimum ingredients. Panzanella is an Italian word and consists of two meanings separately. This dish is considered to be originated in Tuscany Italy.

Spain – Paela De Marisco
Paela means Frying Pan and De Marisco means Seafood. In the 10th Century the production of rice in Spain was starting to increase more and more and people in that times usually add fish in the rice to make a dish. A Spanish food historian said about this dish that this dish " symbolizes the union and heritage of two important cultures, the first one Romans which gave us the utensil and the second Arabs which brought the basic food of humanity to all parts of the world. It is considered to be the national dish of Spain.

Italy – Lasagne Bolognese With Bechamel Sauce
Lasagna is one of Italy's finest cuisines ever made. It has a place in the heart of the Italian cuisine. Lasagna was first made in the city of Naples where this dish became popular in no time. The word Lasagna was embraced from the Greek dish "Lasanum" which meant "cooking pot" because it was made in it. As my opinion goes I will always recommend everyone to try it because it is also one of my favorite foods to eat. It may not be the healthiest but it is tasty.

France – Ratatouille
Ratatouille is an classic French dish which originated in the city of Nice. This dish was basically made by farmers in the earlier times when their crops of vegetables ripened all at once and they needed to use them early. Ratatouille is a French word and has different meanings when split up. Rata in French means "Stew" and Touille means "To Stir".

Italy – Arancini
Arancini is an Italian classic dish which is basically rice balls stuffed with ingredients like meat and cheese. Arancini came into existence in the 10th century in the city of Sicily. It is also regarded as the "Sicily's cuisine". Arancini is an Italian word whose meaning is "little orange". It has a small history but it is loved everywhere.

United Kingdom – Fish And Chips (With Mushy Peas And Tartar Sauce)
Fish and Chips is considered the most common dishes in all of the UK as it is merely eaten everywhere in the whole country. It is basically a fish fried in batter and served with hot chips along with its side with an tartare sauce. The origin of fish and chips was in Lancashire in 1863 by a man named Mr. Lee who used to serve fish and chips from a wooden hut.

Turkey – Pide
Pide is the most famous and local cuisine of Turkey. This is a flatbread kind of dish which has the shape same as the shape of a boat, and it is baked in an oven. Pide was first made in the decade of 1850s.

Serbia – Karadjordje’s steak
A favorite in Serbia and around the world. Karadjordje's steak, or popularly "maiden's dream", is a dish that was created spontaneously but managed to win many hearts. There are several variations in the preparation of Karadjord's steak. Here's one of them!
