You can make a digital currency payment to an email address or a digital currency address. The payment will then be made internally or externally. However, there is no direct relationship between address format and internal/external payment type. The payment type is determined by whether both sender and receiver are on the same host and the transfer can be handled by a reliable third party. If so, it is internal payment, otherwise external payment.

To find whether your payment is internal or external, you can simply check transfer fee in the Payout page or Payments section. If the fee is 0, then it is an internal payment which will be completed immediately. If the fee is above 0, then it is usually an external payment which will take several minutes or hours to complete.

There is also a payout limitation as below:

To make a payout, please use any of the approaches below.

Pay to external digital currency wallet

  1. Copy the payment receiving address from the external digital currency wallet
  2. In your Finmail Mailbox, click the “Payment” button on the toolbar, then click “Payout” on the left panel to open the Payout page.
  3. Paste the copied digital currency address into the “Receiver Address” field
  4. In the Payout page, fill in the amount and choose the currency.
  5. In the Payout page, click anywhere, then the page will be grayed for a short while around 1-2 seconds. After that, the “Fee” will be updated automatically. If the payment information is invalid, the fee will be “N/A”.
  6. Click the “Pay” button in the send’s Payout page, confirm payment details in a popup dialog, then fill in the payment password and click the “Confirm” button.
  7. In the “Payout” page, you can find the updated balance.
  8. In the “History” page, you can review payout details. Depending on the digital currency network, the payment may take several minutes to hours. If the status is “Confirming”, the payment is on going. Once the status is changed to “Confirmed”, the payment is completed. Note that different wallets have their own thresholds for confirmed payments.

Pay to another Finmail email account in a standalone way

  1. In the Payout page, fill in the receiver’s Finmail email address into the “Receiver Address” field.
  2. In the Payout page, fill in the amount and choose the currency
  3. In the Payout page, click anywhere, then the page will be grayed for a short while around 1-2 seconds. After that, the “Fee” will be updated automatically. In the current way, the fee should be 0. If the payment information is invalid, the fee will be “N/A”.
  4. Click the “Pay” button in the Payout page, confirm payment details in a popup dialog, then fill in the payment password and click the “Confirm” button.
  5. The fund should be transferred from the receiver’s Finmail email account to your account immediately.
  6. Click “Payout” to find the updated balance in the Payout page. The payout is done.

Pay to another Finmail email account by email

  1. Click “Compose” button in the Mail page, then fill the receiver’s Finmail email address into the “To” or “Cc” field in the Compose page. Note that if only “Cc” field is filled, the “To” field also needs to be filled with another email address to comply with email standard.
  2. In the Compose page, fill in email Subject and email content
  3. In the “Payments to email recipients” section of the Compose page, click the drop-down box after “Pay To”, then click the receiver’s email address.
  4. In the “Payments to email recipients” section of the Compose page, fill in the amount and choose the currency.
  5. In the “Payments to email recipients” section of the Compose page, click anywhere, then the section will be grayed for a short while around 1-2 seconds. After that, the “Fee” will be updated automatically. In the current way, the fee should be 0. If the payment information is invalid, the fee will be “N/A”.
  6. In the Compose page, click the “Send” button
  7. In a popup dialog, confirm payment details, then fill in the payment password and click the “Confirm” button
  8. Once the email is successfully sent, the fund should be transferred from your Finmail email account to the receiver’s account immediately.
  9. In the receiver’s email list, the email with payment should have a green money-bill icon. The receiver can open the email and find payment details in the attachment section.
  10. Click “Payment” button on the toolbar, then click “Payout” to find the updated balance in your Payout page. The payout is done
