How to change your Chase email for statements

Chase will keep sending statement notices, alerts, and service mail to the addresses on the profile. If that is your everyday Gmail, bank mail sits next to shopping. This page is how to change the Chase email — not a credit-card-only tidy-up, and not an argument that Gmail is unsafe.

Keep Gmail for everyday mail. Chase already files ordinary addresses, including Gmail. You are only choosing which mailbox should get the next statement notice.

This walkthrough is for a US primary bank relationship (checking, and the statements that come with it). Moving only a single card’s marketing mail is not the job. Chase investing / J.P. Morgan self-directed, if you have it, may use a different login — change that site separately.

Three settings, not one

Chase splits profile email, alert delivery, and paperless statements. Saving a new address on the profile does not always move alerts or statement notices.

Official pages (menus move; these are the source of truth):

Paperless is per eligible account. Checking, savings, cards, and a mortgage can each stay on paper or go electronic.

Change the Chase profile email

  1. Sign in at chase.com or the Chase Mobile app.
  2. Open Profile & settings.
  3. Choose Email (or Personal details → Email). Add the new address, mark it primary if that is the box that should receive bank mail, and save. Edit or remove the old address only after the new one works.
  4. Confirm any message Chase sends to the new address.

Finmail cannot edit Chase’s profile for you.

Point alerts and paperless at the same mailbox

  1. Open Profile & settings → Alerts → Alerts delivery. Edit the email used for account alerts so it matches the new primary address. Removing an alert destination is not the same as changing the profile email.
  2. Open Profile & settings → Account settings → Paperless (web) or Settings → Account settings → Paperless (app).
  3. Select the accounts whose statements should notify the new mailbox. Save. Chase documents that you can later deselect types you still want on paper.
  4. View statements later under Statements & documents — email is usually a notice, not the PDF itself.

Wait for the next statement cycle before you stop watching the old inbox.

Where the new address should be

You want Use
Isolation inside Google, $0 A second Gmail. Most people should stop here.
Swiss hosting and end-to-end encryption Proton Mail
Generic paid IMAP Fastmail.
US-hosted mailbox for investing, banking, and tax, off Google [email protected] on Professional

Finmail is independently hosted IMAP in Virginia. It is not end-to-end encryption. @finmail.com is weaker than a domain you own. Banks file Gmail every day; this is not a stronger From line. A new domain can hit filters.

Do not point a Hong Kong or Singapore local bank at this box. Chase here means the US rail.

After you save

Professional is $29/mo, 14-day trial, card required. Cancel before day 15.

What this does not do

  • It does not replace Chase’s document vault or the mobile app.
  • It does not file your return.
  • It does not enroll you in paperless if an account is ineligible — Chase lists eligibility on the paperless screen.
