Malaysia – Hinava Ginapan

Kadazan-Dusun people from Sabah, Malaysia, live in the North Borneo island that has a long shoreline. Kadazan refers to all Tangara tribes that live in Sabah West Coast region, while other native tribes except the Tangara tribe called Dusun. For Kadasan-Dusun people, eating fish has become their tradition since they have enough resources for fresh seafood. One of their favorites is Hinava Ginapan.

Vietnam – Banh Xeo

Eating crepes in a break is so relaxing. Crepes also become a traditional culinary in Asia. In Vietnam, there is a dish that uses a crispy-thin pancake as an ingredient called Banh Xeo.

Thailand – Kaeng Phet

Despite their rough martial art, Thailand people have a lot of delicious food that could attract tourists. As a part of Southeast Asia, they are known for their spice and rich taste of food. Kaeng Phet is one of them. They use a traditional curry spice named prik gaeng ped made from fresh ingredient ground using mortar and pestle.

Indonesia – Garang Asem

In Semarang city, Central Java province of Indonesia, there is a special dish that uses a banana leaf to wrap it, known as Garang Asem. The word Garang Asem refers to the way to cook and its taste.

Thailand – Pad Kra Pao Gai

In Thailand, they have a ghost festival named Phi Ta Khon. The background of this festival comes from their ancestor belief. During the festival, tourists could find many Thai street foods near the parade route. Pad Kra Pao Gai is one of them.

Thailand, Burma – Ohn No Khao Swè

When visiting Thailand, all you need to do is enjoy the panoramic and their super delicious food. And the most popular dish among the other is Ohn No Khao Swè. Ohn No Khao Swè is a Chiang Mai’s street food with a curry made of coconut milk, and it is better known as Khao Swe.

Indonesia – Cincane Chicken

One of the biggest islands in the world is Borneo in Indonesia. Borneo island foremost East Borneo province is known for its authentic brown sugar. East Borneo also has a rousing festival named Erau Festival, which is the biggest culture festival there. When enjoying the Erau festival, there is a special dish that you need to taste, which was Cincane Chicken. To cook Cincane chicken, Borneo people only use organic chicken to have a tender texture and tastier.

Thailand – Gang Keow Wan

Homemade rocket soaring the sky, not in a war but a festival held in Yasothan province Thailand. Bun Bang Fai is a festival to honor Phaya Taen, a pre-Buddhist god. During the festival, the airspace was temporarily closed to allow hundreds of homemade rockets to fire into the sky. They’re also a traditional food stall where you can buy Thai food. For those who loved spicy food, Gang Keow Wan is the best choice to eat during the festival.

Cambodia – Kampot Pepper Crabs

Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia. This country is the successor of the Khmer Empires located in the Indochina peninsula. Kampot pepper has a unique character its tastes both spicy and sweet at the same time.

Vietnam – Bo Luc Lac

For most of us, meet up again with our ex can become an awkward moment, but not in Vietnam. There is a place known as the love market Khau Vai. On every 26th and 27th of the lunar calendar, there is a unique festival held in the Khau Vai market. On that day, hundreds of ex-couple gathering in the market and enjoy the love market festival. Despite their unique festival, Vietnam also full of delicious dishes. One of the beef meals is Bo Luc Lac.
