Japan – Oden (Japanese Fish Cake Stew)

This is a one-pot Japanese dish. In this dish, the main elements are used which are different from the individual. Oden is a name given to this dish which is previously named as ”MISODENGAKU”, or simply known as ”Denjaku”. This is a type of ”Nabenomo”, a dish known as things in a pot.

Japan, China – Gyoza / Jiaozi

Dishes included in the cuisine of Japan has many other dishes from other regions. Those inspired dishes are than infused with Japanese flavours and came up with new fusion dish of other regional origin and Japanese flavours. So this dish is also a fusion cuisine which is originated from the Chinese cuisine and now very popular in Japan.

Japan – Age-Gyoza (揚げ餃子)

Jiaozi is the Chinese form of dumplings that has the Japanese variation of Jiaozi is GYOZA. This is originated as traditional Chinese medicine. There are different names for the Gyoza of different countries and for different ingredients, the cooking method also.

Japan – Tonkatsu

TONKATSU is a platter of few elements having much variety but the main thing is ”fried tempura pork cutlet”. In sino Japanese language this word means Pork cutlets but having more components on the plate. But star of the dish is this Pork Cutlet/ Fried pork.

Japan – Prawn Tempura

Tempura is actually a very famous Japanese snack that is made up of anything like meat strips, chicken pieces, vegetables, seafood like prawns, shrimp, fish fingers, etc. Fritters are also a very similar dish but has pure Japanese Origin and taste. The tempura was first time invented from EDO PERIOD when stalls are made riverside. The word Tempura originated from the Latin word, means ”SEASONED”.

Natto is a kind of snack or breakfast that is made up of fermented soybean. This is famous because of its texture and appearance. As a healthy breakfast it is eaten with a bowl of rice. The main thing to watch is the procedure of fermenting these beans so we can consume with different varieties of rice, toast and mixing with vegetables, etc.

The Philippines – Pan De Sal (Filipino Bread Rolls)

This is Filipino bread prepared by yeast-raised flour in the Philippines. It is the popular bread served with different dishes and also different fillings are made to serve it as a snack and sweet or salted bread rolls. The traditional and famous breakfast of Filipino cuisine is Pan De Sal with butter, jam, and Tea. Pan De Sal was introduced in the Philippines as the French Baguette bread version of Filipino cuisine. It is formerly called PAN DE SUEL that means Floor Bread. It was cooked by a wood-fired oven also known as PUGON.

Japan – Nigirimeshi

This is the traditional rice dish of Japan which is simply known as rice balls. This dish has many other names according to the filling. There are different ingredients used in making this simple but with a lot of varieties in this dish. From Kamakura to the Edo period this dish is invented. Sumurai stored these rice balls into bamboo sheath and use them at the time of war.

Japan – Sashimi

Sashimi is a Japanese cuisine dish. It is a very simple but popular dish, this is not the main course but loved by every Japanese people to enjoy it as wholemeal or the main course. Cooking is not even included in making this dish and served with the most famous MISO SOUP, or as a good bowl of rice. SASHIMI means pierced meat. Like Sashi means ”pierced” and mi means ”meat”.
