Maldivian lobster is the most famous dish of the Maldives. Lobster is also very famous in many countries. This dish is called Maldivian lobster because it is cooked differently. Lobster is a very common dish in many countries. There are different types of lobster. The lobsters are basically served as boiled or steamed. Lobster is blue in color but they change color after they are cooked. Lobster has a thick shell on it when it is cooked it shell becomes a little soft and then you have to remove the shell of it and the meat inside is edible. The lobster has a very unique taste and the texture is soft and mushy which melts in your mouth. This is available at street vendors. People enjoy this in winters as a late-night snack on cold nights. People wait for hours in line to buy this goodness. You can also call this another name of goodness. This is also high in protein. This is very good for your body. You can serve this as a main course, lunch, or late-night snack. This dish is also considered a royal dish because this is a little expensive. In the Maldives seafood is necessary for all the dishes most of the dishes in the Maldives have tuna in them but this dish does not contain a tune because it already has seafood in it. This dish does not have a lot of spices because this is a very simple dish. People enjoy this with some lemon juice and fresh herbs and you can also top it with freshly cracked black pepper. The aroma of this dish can make anyone drool. Lobster is added in many dishes like:

For years, seafood has been very famous in the Maldives. The recipe of this dish is written in a famous recipe book of the Maldives in ancient time. Coconut is a significant ingredient of the dishes in the Maldives. It is used in grates form or replaces with coconut liquids like coconut oil, coconut cream, coconut milk, or coconut water.

Ingredients

  • lobster 1 kg
  • sea salt 1 tsp
  • black pepper 1 tsp
  • avacado oil5 tbsp
  • ginger paste 1/2 tbsp
  • garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
  • basil leaves 3
  • snow peas 11/2 cup
  • vegetable oil 3 tbsp
  • vegetable stock 2 cups

For garnish

  • 2 lemons cutted in wedges
  • freshly cracked black pepper
  • mint leaves
  • coriander chopped

Cooking

Take the lobster and wash them very well. Now separate the head and tails and then boil the head of the lobster for 5 minutes. Now cut the tails in half if you want to and then put them in a bowl and add ginger paste, garlic paste, salt, and avocado oil. Now put it aside for 15 minutes.

Now take a cooking pot and add the vegetable stock, snowpeas, vegetable oil, basil leaves, and black pepper in the pot and cook for about 10 minutes.

Now add the lobster head and tail to the cooking pot and cook for 15 minutes. Now take a plate put the lobster head and tail on it and garnish with lemon wedges, black pepper, mint leaves, and coriander leaves.
