Pakistan – Traditional Namkeen Gosht

Introduction

Namkeen gosht is delicious meet dish. Traditionally, small cubes of goat or cow cooked in ginger, garlic, sat, black pepper and green chili. It is served with chapati and chopped onions, cucumber and tomatoes. It is popular in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Its tender melt in the mouth because of its slow cooking. A specialty of lahore street food this dish is made by slow cooking the meat is cooker. Espeicially on eid – ul -azha everyone makes this dish. The aroma of it so good.

Ingredients

  • ghee 150 g
  • ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • mutton 1 kg
  • cumin 1 tsp
  • salt 3 tbsp
  • tomatoes 3
  • water 2 cups
  • green chili 8 to 10
  • black pepper powder 3 tsp
  • yogurt 4 tsp
  • coriander 3 tbsp

Method of cooking

Step 1

In a pan add ghee, ginger, garlic, cumin, mutton, salt and cook on low flame.

Step 2

Now add water, tomatoes and simmer for 40 minutes. Now add green chili, black pepper and yogurt and cook for 15 minutes.

Step 3

dish out and garnish with some green chilies, green coriander etc.
