Pakistan – Fish Tikka

WHAT IS FISH TIKKA?

Fish Tikka is the dish of Popular in Pakistan. Where it is consume usually in winters because of the weather of Pakistan. Tikka is something that can be cooked as when spices up the meat or vegetables and than bar b qued on coal. Meat of any kind can be used like chicken, mutton, fish and beef and also as vegetables which is spiced and than bar b qued on coal.

TIKKA TYPES

There are many types of the tikka used to make many dishes like the following :

  • Chicken malai tikka
  • beef spicy tikka
  • Chicken tikka karahi
  • Fish tikka boti
  • mutton creamy tikka etc

HISTORY OF THE DISH

This dish is very old traditional aspects of the dish. This is originated from the time when Turks visit the Muslims and introduce this dish to the king of that time. and from that time this dish is introduced as the cuisine of Royals.

TIKKA is a Persian word means ”small pieces”. meat or any vegetables which we want to make the tikkas is cut into small pieces and than marinated with the spices and than bar b qued.

BAR B QUE METHOD OF COOKING TIKKA

First the meat of fish is marinated from the spices given below and than let them set for 2 hours. Than take the small pieces and skewed it into the skewers. Than heat up the coal and put this skewers on the top of the coal. When meat is cooked and brown in color from the top than serve it with some sauce and roti as you like .

INGREDIENTS OF THE DISH

  1. Fish = 1 kg
  2. yogurt = 1 cup
  3. salt = 1 tsp
  4. cream = 1 cup
  5. lemon = 2 tbsp
  6. red pepper = 1 tbsp
  7. turmeric = 1/2 tsp
  8. black pepper = 1 tbsp
  9. chat masala = 2 tbsp
  10. cumin powder = 1 tbsp
  11. coriander = 2 tbsp
  12. green chili paste = 2 tbsp
  13. garlic paste = 4 tbsp
  14. ginger paste = 3 tbsp
  15. mayonnaise = 6 tbsp
  16. oil = for drizzling

METHOD

  1. Take the small pieces of the fish and dry it completely so the excess water remove out of the meat.
  2. Now take the pieces and add all the ingredients of the recipe in the bowl and let it set for 2 hours.
  3. Take the skewers and put the small pieces on them.
  4. Heat up the coal and just cook the meat pieces on the coal and than served
  5. Enjoy!

Cooking time : 30 minutes
